I love my laminating machine. I use it for all sorts of projects. I make laminated flashcards and learning aids for my children to help with their schooling. I also volunteer at a local youth group and we give out certificates for various achievements on a regular basis. These look so much more professional when they are laminated and the kids are really proud to get them.

I've found the best laminating pouches through a process of trial and error. I'd definitely say that buying the cheapest laminating pouches is a false economy. You'll end up making mistakes, and you'll have to throw away some of your pouches when they end up crumpled in the machine or full of air pockets and bubbles. I once bought some that were very cheap thinking it really didn't matter as the job I was using them for was not terribly important; I wasn't too bothered about air bubbles, and I was laminating a lot of cards so I wanted to do it cheaply. Well it all went wrong! They actually got jammed up in my laminator! It was a devil of a job getting it out again.

What you need to look for is the thickness of the lamination pouches. This is measured in microns. Try to get pouches that are at least 100 microns thick. Anything less is liable to end up crumpling up as you feed it through your laminating machine. If you can, check out the laminating pouches before you buy them. Feel them for quality. Check the thickness and ensure they have a nice glossy finish. The glossy pouches will glide through your laminating machine with ease.

I would recommend Zentesi laminating pouches. I've tried several different brands and I've found these to be the best. They're good value for money and the quality is very high. What I particularly like is that they are available in two different thicknesses; 150 microns and a very sturdy 250 microns. You'll pay less for the 150 micron Zentesi laminating pouches so I use these for creating games for my kids and that sort of thing. When I'm printing out and laminating certificates for the youth group I use the 250 micron laminating pouches.

While I've had other pouches that have done the job adequately, these are the only pouches that have never failed me. I know I can rely on them and I'm not one to be wasting time! I just get frustrated when I've printed something out, laminated it, then it goes wrong and I've got to start the whole job all over again! I always buy Zentesi now as they're tried and tested. I tend to order a variety of sizes so I've always got the right size laminating pouch to hand when I need it. I'm always coming up with new ideas for using my laminating machine, and there seems to be a Zentesi pouch to perfectly suit every job.
